Kevin Tobin is a licensed clinical psychologist who was the lead psychologist for the Pittsfield public schools from 1988 to July 2018. He began at Learning Solutions in August of 2018.
His focus is not just obtaining scores but developing actionable success plans for students to enable them to reach their potential and overcome whatever limitations they were faced with.
He has consulted with school psychologists, school adjustment counselors, administrators, and parents and worked closely with the staff of other agencies such as the Brein Center, the Department of Children and Families, the Department of Youth Services, Massachusetts Rehabilitation Services, KEY, and the Counseling Center of the Berkshires.
He has provided professional development and training for teachers and other school staff and supervise the training of school psychologist graduate students from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Dr. Tobin has co-written two book chapters in Assessment for Intervention edited by Rachel Chidsey-Brown and published by Guilford Publications and written articles on reading interventions for elementary-aged students and evaluated reading programs.
He has done cognitive behavioral therapy with students and has training and experience with structural family therapy. He is also a visiting associate professor of psychology at Westfield State University where he teaches in the graduate school of psychology.
His goal is to promote the success and happiness of all the students and families he serves.
Kevin holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Vermont, an M.A. in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rhode Island.
