Dr. Rachel Currie-Rubin is a co-owner and Director of Education and Operations at Learning Solutions, where she provides educational and executive functioning assessments, professional development, and training. She also oversees the practice’s business operations.
Rachel brings nearly 20 years of experience as a reading teacher, learning specialist, and educational assessment specialist. She has contracted with numerous public school districts and private schools across the country, providing educational services and professional learning opportunities.
Her experience includes roles at the Williston Northampton School, CAST, the Carroll School, and Boston Children’s Hospital. She has taught psychoeducational assessment at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, the Carroll School’s graduate training program, and Endicott College. She is trained in several reading interventions, including Orton-Gillingham, Lindamood-Bell’s LiPS and Visualizing and Verbalizing programs, and the Maloney Method.
Rachel is sought out as a trainer and podcast guest for her educational expertise. She has published articles on reading development and Universal Design for Learning, and her book publications include a co-edited volume on the school-to-prison pipeline. She is currently working on another book and developing a podcast with her daughter, What’s Great in K–8 and Beyond?
Rachel earned a B.S. in Speech and Hearing Education from Ithaca College, an Ed.M. in Language and Literacy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and an Ed.D. in Human Development and Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Outside of work, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and geriatric cat and driving her three daughters to swim meets all over New England.
