Melissa Griswold, M.E.D.

Editor and Content Specialist

Pronouns: she/her/hers

Melissa serves as our editor and content specialist. Prior to joining Learning Solutions, her
career journey includes nearly 20 years working as a teacher of the deaf/mainstream consultant
and information outreach specialist for Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech. These roles
allowed her to work directly with students, schools, and families as well develop resources for
children with hearing loss and those who support them, including newsletters, books and self-
advocacy materials for children and families, and educator guides. Her love of writing and
editing led her to pursue freelance work for a period of time, and she now enjoys applying her
skills and background in education to her role at Learning Solutions.

Melissa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Middlebury College and a Master in
Education of the Deaf (M.E.D.) from Smith College. She cherishes family time with her husband
and two daughters as well as volunteering with her dog, Murray, who is a certified Bright Spot
Therapy Dog.
