Laura is a second-year doctoral student in clinical psychology at Antioch University New
England. Prior to entering her doctoral program, Laura earned her MS is Applied Clinical
Psychology from Lamar University where she began to develop an understanding of clinical
assessment and individual therapy while studying the impacts of natural environments on
attention, creative problem solving, and stress. Upon graduating, Laura deepened her knowledge
of mental health and therapeutic intervention by working as a field mentor and clinical
coordinator in a hybrid residential/wilderness setting with emerging adults. Laura has attended
trainings on dialectical behavior therapy and enjoys incorporating these skills into clinical
practice. Laura takes a collaborative, holistic, strengths-based, trauma-informed approach to her
work with individuals and in assessment. She believes evaluations can be a powerful tool that
can provide therapeutic insight, highlight strengths, and inform treatment and accommodations.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys being outside as often as possible and creating through artistic
endeavors.
