Dr. Deborah Zera is a licensed clinical psychologist with a broad range of expertise in psychological, cognitive, neuropsychological, and social/emotional assessment with children, adolescents, and adults. She views the evaluation process as a pivotal time in an individual’s life that can profoundly guide them in gaining understanding of themselves and their interpersonal relationships as well as assist them with academic and occupational interventions and decisions. It is an honor and a privilege to be invited to assist each individual. Through a trusting, professional relationship, Dr. Zera collaborates with her clients to identify their strengths and flesh out ways to better utilize them. She also helps clients understand their weaker areas and develop tools and strategies to aid coping so that they may live fuller and more satisfying lives.
In her long career as a clinical psychologist, Dr. Zera’s practice initially specialized in both providing individual psychotherapy and conducting psychological and cognitive evaluations to individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, ADHD, memory concerns, eating disorders, learning disabilities, and trauma-related issues. She brings a depth and breadth of clinical insight combined with thoughtful professionalism to her work.
Dr. Zera received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Connecticut, a master’s degree in counseling from the University of New Hampshire, and a doctorate in clinical psychology from Antioch New England University. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship through Harvard Medical School, focusing on providing treatment with a managed mental healthcare format. She has worked in psychiatric hospitals, community mental health, and college counseling centers and functioned as team member in clinics focused on diagnosing and treating eating disorders, ADHD, and memory issues. Dr. Zera has provided consultation to state agencies, juvenile detention facilities, and universities and provided clinical supervision and training to interns and clinical staff. She is very pleased to join the multidisciplinary, collaborative team at Learning Solutions.
